My name is Ariel Trouche and I specialize in selling residential real estate in historic Charleston, the surrounding islands and beaches. My love affair with Charleston began as an 18 year old while attending the College of Charleston. I had visited a friend in my senior year of high school and decided that C of C was the only place for me. Luckily, my parents loved Charleston too and thought it would be an ideal place for me to spend the next 4 years. One evening at an oyster roast, I met, fell in love and eventually married a 7th generation Charlestonian with a very large and lively family. We have three active boys that keep me engaged and up to date with what is going on in our local schools. With five brothers and sisters in-laws and 14 nieces and nephews residing in the greater Charleston area, I have a unique perspective on what it means to live and work in the Charleston area with an extended family that covers many different age groups with varied professions living in many neighborhoods from downtown Charleston to James Island and Mount Pleasant to its beaches.
To be a good realtor you need to be able to listen and have patience. (Three boys has helped me with that one.) I listen to what my clients are looking for in a property and guide them to the right community or area that best suits their needs. You need to have patience because it can take time to find the right property in just the right neighborhood. For many people choosing Charleston as their home is a very easy decision, the hard part is often navigating the area and discovering where they want to live because there are so many wonderful choices. Historic Charleston is one of the most walkable cities in America. We have five distinct beach communities and even more islands with golf all within a 20 mile radius to downtown Charleston each offering their own original personality and lifestyle.
My background is business and marketing with an emphasis on the internet - so real estate is a natural fit for me. I love helping my clients identify the right property. If the inventory isn’t there I find it. Three out of the last 6 transactions I closed were off market properties. I believe a lot of my success comes from being able to match my buyers with the right home. It takes intuition, getting to know their personality and understanding what is important and laying out a game plan to make it happen for them . For many of my clients this transaction may be the single largest investment - so getting it right and having the expertise to do it really matters.
I work hard when negotiating a contract, be creatively and can think outside the box to put a deal together or to keep it together. Experience is one of the most important aspects of this business. I make sure that all the details of the transaction run smoothly for my clients from the initial offer to closing and communicate every step of the way.
